Russian Embassy in Qatar holds reception on occasion of Defender of the Fatherland Day.

On February 23, the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the State of Qatar and the Office of the Military Attaché organized a reception on the occasion of the Defender of the Fatherland Day.

The event was held in a limited format in compliance with all the existing precautionary sanitary and epidemiological measures. The reception was attended by the ambassadors of the CIS countries, the Secretary General of the GECF H.E. Yuri Sentyurin, as well as representatives of the Russian state corporations.

In the opening speech H.E. Nurmakhmad Kholov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the State of Qatar, stressed the invaluable contribution of the Red Army to the victory over fascism in the Great Patriotic War and the salvation of Europe from the "brown plague", as well as the pivotal role of the USSR and the Russian Federation in preserving the fundamental principles of the UN, norms of international law and a multipolar world order based on the respect of sovereignty, the principle of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries, mutual respect and fair competition.

The Military Attaché Col. Sergei Mamontov presented a short excursion into the current state of the Russian Armed Forces.
